Community Agency Panel Discussion

AVA is pleased to present an upcoming Community Agency Panel that centres practice-based knowledge, lived expertise, and frontline perspectives on gender-based violence, trauma, equity, and intersecting issues. This session will bring together representatives from community agencies and community-informed practitioners to share insights, experiences, and strategies for advancing meaningful, impact-driven work across sectors.

Panelists

Kristy Chalmers (She/Her): Director of Programs, Kindred; Leader in program development and strategic direction; Social Worker specializing in children, families, and infant mental health; Instrumental in developing initiatives such as PIRT; Committed to advancing family well-being and community impact.

Brigitte L’Heureux (She/Her): Executive Director, Fédération des parents de la francophonie manitobaine (FPFM); Non-profit leader based in Winnipeg, Manitoba; Active in the parents’ movement since 2011; Former board member, serving as advisor, vice-president, and president; Oversees programs, services, and strategic direction supporting Francophone families and communities.

Carrie McManus (She/Her): Director of Innovation and Programs, Sagesse; Leader in domestic abuse prevention and program innovation; Founder of ByDesign social enterprise; Over 20 years of experience in strategic and program development; Committed to driving systems change and community impact.

Julie Tremblay (She/Her): Director, Viol-Secours; Leader in sexual violence support, prevention, and advocacy; Community-based non-profit executive and public spokesperson; Background in psychology and organizational management; Committed to supporting survivors and advancing social change.
