Organizations that serve the public good are under growing pressure to scale their impact. But scaling impact requires more than expanding operations, reaching more people, or replicating a successful program.
In this webinar, participants will learn a practical approach to scaling the social and environmental impacts of services, programs, policies, products, and investments. The approach is based on the book Scaling Impact: Innovation for the Public Good by Robert McLean and John Gargani, and is grounded in the authors’ collaborations with social innovators in the Global South. It also reflects the authors’ more recent thinking about how organizations can begin scaling with greater clarity, purpose, and attention to risk.
About the Speaker
Dr. John Gargani is an evaluator, researcher, writer, and educator specializing in measuring and scaling social and environmental impact. He is the founder and president of Gargani + Company and coauthor of Scaling Impact: Innovation for the Public Good. With more than 30 years of experience, he has led evaluation and program design projects supported by governments, foundations, and private investors. He holds degrees from the University of California, Berkeley, New York University, and the University of Pennsylvania, and has taught graduate courses and professional education internationally for over two decades.
