About the Speaker
Cortney Lohnes has worked in intimate partner violence prevention and intervention for over 15 years and believes real change and healing happens through people — through trust built over time, honest conversations, and the everyday work of showing up for teams and communities. She has partnered with leaders, frontline staff, and community organizations to strengthen leadership and help teams thrive, currently serving as Director of Shelter Services at A Safe Place where she guides strategic and operational direction for a 35-bed emergency shelter and 9-bed second-stage program, through an ongoing shift toward trauma-informed, person-centered care. Across roles spanning family support, violence prevention education, and community-based facilitation, she has built lasting partnerships through centering relationships that make good work possible.
