On June 18, 2024, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. ET, in collaboration with YWCA Canada, Women and Gender Equality Canada’s (WAGE) Gender-Based Violence Knowledge Centre is hosting an event on the national gender-based violence (GBV) youth awareness campaign, It’s Not Just.
During this event, representatives from WAGE and YWCA will introduce It’s Not Just, a behavioural change campaign created to empower Canadian youth (14-24) to recognize and help end the behaviours and attitudes contributing to GBV, thereby creating a safer Canada for everyone. Participants will learn about the newly launched training modules and resources available to youth, as well as what is to come for the campaign. YWCA will also share key findings and how the experiences and insight of Canada’s youth played a pivotal role in establishing this campaign.
Please note:
- Simultaneous interpretation will be in both English and French
- Sign language interpretation will be in American Sign Language (ASL) and Langue des signes québécoise (LSQ)
- Bilingual Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) will be available

Learning and talking about GBV can be triggering. A mental health professional will attend the webinar, ready to assist anyone who reaches out. Information on how to contact them will be made available at the beginning of the session. Additionally, mental health supports can be found at Hope for Wellness for Indigenous people, and the Employee Assistance Program for all federal public servants.
