Description
The Sexual Violence Counselling program addresses the growing demand for in-person support in rural, remote, Indigenous, and northern communities. To reduce barriers such as travel, childcare, and technology limitations, the Dragonfly Centre offers both community- and school-based clinics, as well as virtual sessions where appropriate. Clinicians trained in trauma-informed and age-appropriate therapies, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), work with children, youth, and adults to promote healing and reduce long-term trauma symptoms. The program emphasizes timely access, tailored treatment through triage assessments, and collaborative efforts with local organizations to ensure safe, accessible spaces for survivors and their families.
