Description
WINGS Multicultural Outreach Program is a community-based initiative that offers personalized support to women of all cultural backgrounds who have experienced domestic abuse. This program is designed to offer compassionate, non-judgmental assistance in a safe and respectful environment. Participants receive practical support to help manage day-to-day challenges, such as accessing housing, navigating the legal system, applying for financial assistance, and securing basic necessities.
The Multicultural Outreach Program also offers advocacy services, helping women understand their rights and empowering them to make informed decisions. Staff work alongside participants to ensure their voices are heard in interactions with government agencies, landlords, schools, and other institutions.
In addition, referrals to culturally sensitive services such as counseling, legal aid, language supports, and health care are available. By acknowledging the diverse needs of immigrant and racialized women, this program provides tailored support that respects cultural identity and addresses barriers unique to newcomers and marginalized group.
