AVA Women’s and Girls’ Health Hub is creating an inventory of evidence on promising and effective programs (e.g. interventions, solutions) for diverse groups of women, including those who live in remote, rural or difficult to access areas. This meta-inventory will not only include programs by region and topic, but will grade the evidence on programs to the degree possible. Inventoried programs address adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), family violence and gender-based violence. Programs will be identified from surveys of service providers across Canada as well as from well-known inventories of programs (e.g Alberta Council of Women’s Shelters ShelterLink). We will identify promising programs and evaluate the quality of supporting evidence using the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation (GRADE) Evidence-to-Decision (EtD) Framework (Alonso-Coello et al., 2016; Alonso-Coello et al., 2018; Moberg et al., 2018). GRADE EtD focuses on public and social services programs and interventions, and considers associated costs, benefits, resource requirements, impacts on health equity, and patient and community perspectives (Moberg et al., 2018; Zhang et al., 2017). Any recommendations from evaluations will also be contextualized for relevancy and reviewed with an intersectionality and GSBA+ (Clark et al., 2018).

We are working on some exciting updates!
